Frames for the wall nobody makes a frame for
Between two windows. The strip beside a door. A chimney breast, an alcove, the run above a radiator. These walls are the reason made-to-measure exists — they are never a standard ratio, so a shop-bought frame is either too wide to fit or too small to look deliberate.
Two shapes solve most of them. Long and low: 24×8", 36×12", 60×20cm, 90×30cm. Tall and upright: the same sizes hung the other way, which is the answer for a narrow strip beside a door or between windows.

What size frame fits a narrow wall?
Take about two-thirds of the wall's narrow dimension and match the closest size we list. A 40cm-wide strip between windows takes a 30cm-wide frame comfortably; anything tighter than about 25cm is better left bare than crowded.
Can I hang a panoramic frame vertically?
Yes. All our long sizes work either way round — 90×30cm hung upright is one of the best answers to a tall narrow wall, and the customiser lets you set the orientation before you crop, so the picture is composed for the shape rather than cropped into it.
What if my wall isn't a standard ratio?
Then it's a quote rather than a click. Send us the width and height of the clear wall and we'll price a frame cut to it in any of the same mouldings — that is the whole point of cutting to order.
Should a narrow frame have a mat?
Either the larger of the two apertures we offer, which leaves a slimmer border, or no mat at all. The smaller aperture leaves a deep border, and on an already-narrow frame that eats the picture and makes the whole thing read as a smaller object than it is.
One piece or a stack?
One, if it fits. A vertical stack of two or three small frames works on a tall strip, but keep the gaps even and the frames identical — the eye reads a clean column as deliberate and an uneven one as clutter.
