A slim, square 17mm profile — understated and endlessly versatile, in a deep, confident black in a smooth, closed-grain finish. It suits monochrome photography, bold typographic prints and anything you want to feel grounded and gallery-sharp. Each frame is cut, mitered and assembled to fit your print — handmade in the UK and shipped ready to hang.

Made to your size. Every frame is cut, joined and glazed to order, which is why we can't accept returns on made-to-measure frames. Please check your size before ordering.

Arrives perfect, or we remake it. Every frame travels in specialised picture frame packaging. If anything reaches you less than perfect, send us a photo within 48 hours of delivery and we'll remake it free.

Caring for it. Peel any protective film from the glazing, then clean with a soft, dry cloth. Don't use glass cleaner.

Choosing a frame for your A1 artwork

A1 measures 594 × 841 mm (59.4 × 84.1 cm). Choose an A1 frame for a full-size A1 poster, art print or photograph without a mount. Measure the entire sheet, including any printed white border: the paper size determines the frame you need. A1 is larger than A2, so check the label on your print rather than relying on how it looks on screen.

The starting option is frame-only. To display smaller artwork in this A1 frame, add an optional mount with an opening labelled A2 or 18 × 24 inches. These are two different artwork sizes; choose the opening that matches your sheet. An A1 print will not fit behind either of those smaller openings.

The stated A1 size describes the artwork the frame holds, not its outside dimensions. The frame profile adds to the overall width and height, so leave room for that border when measuring your wall. The same frame size suits portrait or landscape artwork.

Mount opening labels refer to the artwork size. We cut the window slightly smaller so the mount overlaps the edges and helps prevent the artwork from falling through. Keep any signature or important detail away from the paper’s edge.

What size artwork fits an A1 frame?

An A1 frame holds a 594 × 841 mm sheet without a mount. Measure the entire sheet, including any printed white border.

Can I add a mount to an A1 frame?

Yes, as an optional extra for smaller artwork: choose an opening labelled A2 or 18 × 24 inches. The mount is not included with the starting frame-only option.

Can I put a mount around A1 artwork?

Not at the moment. None of our larger frames offers an A1 opening, so A1 artwork is framed without a mount in an A1 frame.

Is A1 the same as 24x36?

No. A1 is 594 × 841 mm (about 23.4 × 33.1 inches), smaller than 24 × 36 inches (610 × 914 mm). An A1 print would sit loose in a 24 × 36 inch frame, so choose an A1 frame.

Is A1 the outside size of the frame?

No. It is the size of the artwork the frame holds. The moulding extends beyond that, so the overall outside dimensions depend on the profile you choose. Allow for the frame border when measuring your wall space.

Are the frames real wood?

Yes. Our wood mouldings are solid wood with closed-grain, open-grain or bobbin finishes, handmade in the UK. Metal mouldings are real aluminium.

How long does delivery take?

Each frame is cut and assembled to order. Dispatched in 2–5 working days.

What size is A1 in inches?

A1 is 594 × 841 mm, about 23.4 × 33.1 inches.
