A slim, square 17mm profile — understated and endlessly versatile, in a rich, vintage antique bronze finished with a soft luster sheen. It suits warm-toned prints, heritage photography and traditional interiors. Cut to your exact size in our UK workshop and shipped ready to hang.

Made to your size. Every frame is cut, joined and glazed to order, which is why we can't accept returns on made-to-measure frames. Please check your size before ordering.

Arrives perfect, or we remake it. Every frame travels in specialised picture frame packaging. If anything reaches you less than perfect, send us a photo within 48 hours of delivery and we'll remake it free.

Caring for it. Peel any protective film from the glazing, then clean with a soft, dry cloth. Don't use glass cleaner.

An aged finish on a clean profile

Antique gold and silver are toned down: the metallic sits under a darker wash, so the frame looks like it has been on the wall for years. It flatters old maps, botanical prints, oil paintings and black-and-white photographs, where bright gold can look brash.

These are plain profiles with an antique finish, not carved or ornate frames. That keeps them at home in a modern room as well as a period one.

Three profiles

A slim 17mm lustre moulding for smaller prints and photos, a wide 33mm flat moulding that gives a piece more presence, and a 20mm face with 32mm depth for larger work. Gold and silver come in all three; bronze in the slim and the wide.

What is an antique gold frame?

A gold frame with an aged finish: the gold is knocked back with a darker tone so it reads as warm and soft rather than shiny. It is a finish, not an age - these frames are made new, to order.

Are these frames ornate?

No. They are clean, flat or gently rounded wood mouldings with an antique finish. If you are after carved or swept ornate frames, these are not those.

Antique gold or bright gold?

Antique gold suits older or softer artwork - maps, botanicals, oils, sepia and black-and-white photos. Bright gold suits crisp modern prints and graphic work. Browse our gold frames to compare.

What colour mount goes with an antique frame?

An off-white or cream mount is the classic choice and keeps the finish warm. Bright white works with silver. Black suits a bold, graphic piece.

Do I need to send you my artwork?

No. Leave Add my photo unticked and we make the frame (and mount) and post it to you; you fit the artwork at home. Or upload a photo or file and we print and frame it for you.
