A slim, square 17mm profile — understated and endlessly versatile, in a warm antique gold finished with a soft luster sheen. It suits classic art, watercolors and pieces you want to feel a little more special. Each frame is cut, mitered and assembled to fit your print — handmade in the UK and shipped ready to hang.

Made to your size. Every frame is cut, joined and glazed to order, which is why we can't accept returns on made-to-measure frames. Please check your size before ordering.

Arrives perfect, or we remake it. Every frame travels in specialised picture frame packaging. If anything reaches you less than perfect, send us a photo within 48 hours of delivery and we'll remake it free.

Caring for it. Peel any protective film from the glazing, then clean with a soft, dry cloth. Don't use glass cleaner.

Choosing a gold frame

Gold lifts artwork that deserves a little ceremony: classic paintings, watercolours, vintage prints and wedding photos. It also warms up black-and-white photography, and sits naturally in traditional rooms and alongside brass fittings.

Most of our gold frames are antique gold, a softer, aged tone rather than bright yellow gold. The slim 17mm profile has a soft lustre sheen, the deeper 20 × 32mm profile gives larger prints more presence, and the flat 33mm face shows its open grain through the gold. For a modern look, the ultra-slim brushed gold aluminium frame keeps the edge fine and metallic. The turned bobbin profile adds a decorative, period touch.

A white mount gives gold a crisp gallery finish. A black mount makes it bolder and more dramatic, and suits dark or moody artwork.

Is antique gold different from bright gold?

Yes. Antique gold is a softer, slightly aged tone with more depth, so it looks at home on classic art and in traditional rooms. The brushed gold aluminium frame is brighter and more contemporary.

Are gold frames wood or metal?

Both. Most of our gold frames are solid wood with an antique gold finish, in lustre, closed-grain, open-grain and bobbin profiles. There is also an ultra-slim brushed gold aluminium frame for a cleaner, modern edge.

What sizes do gold frames come in?

More than 80 sizes: inch sizes from 6 × 8 up to 24 × 36, metric sizes up to 60 × 90 cm, A4 to A1, square, and panoramic formats up to 100 × 40 cm. Choose yours in the frame options on this page. For a size that isn’t listed, use our custom-size frame designer.

Is the size the outside of the frame?

No. The size is the artwork the frame holds. The moulding adds its own width on every side, so the outside dimensions depend on the profile you choose. Allow for the frame border when measuring your wall space.

Can I add a mount?

Yes, as an optional extra. Choose a white or black mount, or a premium mount with a pattern or printed text, when you set up your frame. The openings on offer depend on the frame size you pick.

What comes with the frame?

Each frame is cut and assembled to order in our UK workshop, with clear cast-acrylic glazing and archival backing, and arrives ready to hang. Orders are dispatched in 2–5 working days.

Can you print my photo, or just send the frame?

Both. Upload a photo, print or artwork and we print it and fit it in the frame, or choose frame only and we send the empty frame for your own artwork. The brushed gold aluminium frame is only available with a print.
