About this frame

A slim, square 17mm profile — understated and endlessly versatile, in a deep, confident black in a smooth, closed-grain finish. It suits monochrome photography, bold typographic prints and anything you want to feel grounded and gallery-sharp. Each frame is cut, mitered and assembled to fit your print — handmade in the UK and shipped ready to hang.

Choosing a frame for your A1 artwork

A1 measures 594 × 841 mm (59.4 × 84.1 cm). Choose an A1 frame for a full-size A1 poster, art print or photograph without a mat. Measure the entire sheet, including any printed white border: the paper size determines the frame you need. A1 is larger than A2, so check the label on your print rather than relying on how it looks on screen.

The starting option is frame-only. To display smaller artwork in this A1 frame, add an optional mat with an opening labeled A2 or 18 × 24 inches. These are two different artwork sizes; choose the opening that matches your sheet. An A1 print will not fit behind either of those smaller openings.

The stated A1 size describes the artwork the frame holds, not its outside dimensions. The frame profile adds to the overall width and height, so leave room for that border when measuring your wall. The same frame size suits portrait or landscape artwork.

Mat opening labels refer to the artwork size. We cut the window slightly smaller so the mat overlaps the edges and helps prevent the artwork from falling through. Keep any signature or important detail away from the paper’s edge.
