A slim, square 17mm profile — understated and endlessly versatile, in a deep, dark red with its natural open grain showing through. It suits rich, dramatic prints and warm traditional interiors. Cut to your exact size in our UK workshop and shipped ready to hang.

Made to your size. Every frame is cut, joined and glazed to order, which is why we can't accept returns on made-to-measure frames. Please check your size before ordering.

Arrives perfect, or we remake it. Every frame travels in specialised picture frame packaging. If anything reaches you less than perfect, send us a photo within 48 hours of delivery and we'll remake it free.

Caring for it. Peel any protective film from the glazing, then clean with a soft, dry cloth. Don't use glass cleaner.

The names and date are printed straight onto the mat in archival pigment ink, in the border below your photo. Choose a layout, a lettering style and an ink colour, and we print and frame it to order.

Why ruby for a 40th anniversary?

Forty years is the ruby wedding anniversary. We frame their photo in a deep red wood frame and print their names on the mat in ruby-red ink to mark it.

Is there a real ruby?

No. The frame is a red wood finish and the names are printed in a deep ruby-red ink. There are no gemstones; it is a keepsake gift, not jewelry.

What can I have printed?

Their names on the first line and, if you like, the years or the date beneath, for example "Forty years · 1986 – 2026". Choose the layout, lettering and ink; the preview shows exactly what we print on the mat.

Is the text engraved?

No. The names are printed straight onto the mat in archival pigment ink, which stays sharp at small sizes and works in every lettering style. Looking for an engraved anniversary frame? Printing gives the same keepsake finish with far more choice of lettering.

Can I have the words printed on the photo instead?

Yes. If you would rather have the words printed under the photo, as part of the print, see our Caption Photo. It is printed and framed to order too, and costs less.

Do I need to upload a photo?

You can upload their photo and we'll print it, or choose frame only and add your own photo when it arrives. The names are printed on the mat either way.

Will it arrive in time?

Every frame is printed, cut and framed to order and dispatched in 2–5 working days. Delivery times for your country show at checkout, so order early for the day.
