About this frame

A slim, square 17mm profile — understated and endlessly versatile, in a deep, confident black in a smooth, closed-grain finish. It suits monochrome photography, bold typographic prints and anything you want to feel grounded and gallery-sharp. Each frame is cut, mitered and assembled to fit your print — handmade in the UK and shipped ready to hang.

Made to your size. Every frame is cut, joined and glazed to order, which is why we can't accept returns on made-to-measure frames. Please check your size before ordering.

Arrives perfect, or we remake it. Every frame travels in specialised picture frame packaging. If anything reaches you less than perfect, send us a photo within 48 hours of delivery and we'll remake it free.

Caring for it. Peel any protective film from the glazing, then clean with a soft, dry cloth. Don't use glass cleaner.

Frame a postcard

A postcard is smaller than the smallest frame we can cut, so these frames come with a mount already added. The mount's opening holds the card and the frame is a little larger. Pick the frame for your card below, then the opening that matches it.

A 4×6" (10×15cm) postcard fits a 6×8", 6×9" or 8×12" frame. A large 5×7" (13×18cm) postcard fits an 8×10" or 9×12" frame, or a 15×20cm or A4 frame in metric. A 6×9" jumbo card fits the 8×12".

Want a 4×6" card to fill the frame with no mount? Our ready-made 10×15cm frames are made for it. For an A6 card or an odd size, custom framing cuts the mount opening to fit.

What size frame do I need for a postcard?

Measure the card, then choose the frame with the matching opening:

  • 4×6" (10×15cm), the most common postcard - 6×8", 6×9" or 8×12" frame.
  • 5×7" (13×18cm), large postcards - 8×10" or 9×12" frame, or 15×20cm or A4.
  • 6×9" jumbo postcard - 8×12" frame.

A UK A6 card (10.5×14.8cm) is a few millimetres off 4×6", so for a snug fit use custom framing, which cuts the mount opening to your card.

Why does the frame come with a mount?

Our frames start at 6×8", larger than any postcard, so the mount is what holds the card in place. It also gives a small card room on the wall. You can untick it, but the card would then rattle in the frame.

Can I frame a postcard without a mount?

For a 4×6" card, yes: our ready-made 10×15cm frames are sized for it, so the card fills the frame.

Can I frame several postcards together?

Not in one mount yet: each frame holds one card. For a set, order one frame per card in the same moulding and hang them as a row or a grid.

Do I need to send you the postcard?

No. We make the frame and mount and post them to you, and you slip the card in at home. Leave Add my photo unticked. If you would rather we print a postcard image for you, tick it instead.
