About this frame
A slim, square 17mm profile — understated and endlessly versatile, in a deep, confident black in a smooth, closed-grain finish. It suits monochrome photography, bold typographic prints and anything you want to feel grounded and gallery-sharp. Each frame is cut, mitered and assembled to fit your print — handmade in the UK and shipped ready to hang.
Materials & specification
- Real solid-wood moulding, cut and finished in our workshop.
- Clear cast-acrylic glazing — lighter and safer in transit than glass.
- Backed in archival foamboard with sealed edges.
- Ships with hanging hardware fitted; larger frames include wire + screws.
- Prints on archival paper with pigment inks, 100+ years light-fast.
Delivery & returns
Each frame is made to order. UK orders typically dispatch within 2–5 working days. International shipping calculated at checkout.
If anything arrives damaged, we replace it.

What is a 20" x 20" picture frame best for?
20" x 20" (508 × 508 mm) is a true square. It suits square photo prints, album art, canvases and any artwork cropped 1:1 — a format standard rectangular frames cannot take without a custom mount.
Can I add a mount to a 20" x 20" frame?
Yes. Add a mount and we cut the aperture to your artwork, so you can sit a smaller square print inside a larger square frame with an even border on all four sides.
Are the frames real wood?
Yes. Our wood mouldings are solid wood with closed-grain, open-grain or bobbin finishes, handmade in the UK. Metal mouldings are real aluminium.
Is 20x20 the same as 20" x 20"?
Yes — 20x20 and 20" x 20" are the same size (508 × 508 mm). Because the frame is square there is no portrait or landscape version.
How long does delivery take?
