A slim, square 17mm profile — understated and endlessly versatile, in a deep, confident black in a smooth, closed-grain finish. It suits monochrome photography, bold typographic prints and anything you want to feel grounded and gallery-sharp. Each frame is cut, mitered and assembled to fit your print — handmade in the UK and shipped ready to hang.

Made to your size. Every frame is cut, joined and glazed to order, which is why we can't accept returns on made-to-measure frames. Please check your size before ordering.

Arrives perfect, or we remake it. Every frame travels in specialised picture frame packaging. If anything reaches you less than perfect, send us a photo within 48 hours of delivery and we'll remake it free.

Caring for it. Peel any protective film from the glazing, then clean with a soft, dry cloth. Don't use glass cleaner.

Album covers on the wall

A 12-inch sleeve is about 31.5cm square, a little bigger than a 12×12" frame, so it won't drop into one. Instead it sits behind a mat with a 12" opening, which holds the sleeve by its edges and gives it a border: the 20×20" or 18×18" frame, or in metric the 50×50cm or 40×40cm with a 30×30cm opening.

Want to swap the cover whenever you like? Our ready-made Vinyl Record Frame is built for a standard LP sleeve and opens at the back, so changing it takes a minute.

A 10" sleeve fits the 25×25cm opening in the 40×40cm frame, or the 10" opening in the 16×16". Printed album art fills a 12×12", 30×30cm or 24×24" frame with no mat. 7" single sleeves don't match an opening yet, so custom framing cuts one to fit.

What size frame fits a vinyl record sleeve?

A 12" LP sleeve is about 31.4 × 31.6cm (12⅜"), slightly larger than a 12×12" frame, so it is framed behind a mat:

  • 12" sleeve - 20×20" or 18×18" frame with the 12" opening, or 50×50cm or 40×40cm with the 30×30cm opening.
  • 10" sleeve (about 26cm) - 40×40cm frame with the 25×25cm opening, or 16×16" with the 10" opening.
  • 7" single sleeve (about 18.4cm) - custom framing.

The opening is cut a little smaller than the sleeve, so the mat covers under 1cm of each edge. For a frame the sleeve fills edge to edge, use our ready-made Vinyl Record Frame.

Can I frame the record itself, not just the sleeve?

No. These are flat picture frames, and we don't cut round mat openings, so they hold the sleeve or a print but not the record disc.

Do I need a mat?

For an original 12" sleeve, yes: the sleeve is slightly bigger than a 12×12" frame, so the mat is what holds it. For a 12×12" print of the cover art, no - the print fills the frame. The mat is ticked to start with; untick it for a print.

What size frame fits an album cover?

The same as the sleeve: a 12" album cover is about 31.5cm square, so frame it behind a mat in a 20×20", 18×18", 50×50cm or 40×40cm frame. A 12×12" print of the cover art fits a 12×12" frame exactly.

Can I swap the album cover later?

With the ready-made Vinyl Record Frame, yes - it opens at the back (push-and-turn clips on the aluminum frame, a spring-loaded panel on the wood), so changing the sleeve takes a minute. A made-to-order frame opens at the back too, but is designed to stay as built.

Which moldings can I have?

Any solid-wood molding in the square sizes listed. Aluminum is offered in our stock sizes only - off-stock metal would ship as a self-assembly kit, and we would rather send you a finished frame.
