Framing a newspaper

Newspapers don't come in standard frame sizes, and they vary from title to title, so measure your page and enter its size in the designer below. Choose Frame only and you fit the page yourself: nothing needs posting to us.

As a guide, a tabloid is about 28×43cm (11×17"), a compact or Berliner about 31×47cm, and a broadsheet front page about 37.5×60cm (US broadsheets about 30×56cm). Measure yours, because papers differ.

A mount gives a front page a border and keeps the newsprint off the glazing. Newsprint yellows in daylight, so hang it out of direct sun.

What size frame do I need for a newspaper?

Measure the page itself and enter those measurements in the designer: we cut the frame to fit. Typical sizes:

  • Tabloid - about 28×43cm (11×17").
  • Compact or Berliner - about 31×47cm.
  • Broadsheet front page - about 37.5×60cm in the UK, about 30×56cm (12×22") in the US.
Should I add a mount?

It is optional. A mount adds a border around the page and keeps the newsprint away from the glazing. With no mount, the page fills the frame edge to edge.

Do I need to send you the newspaper?

No. Choose Frame only and we make the frame and post it to you. You lay the page in at home and close the back.

Can I frame a folded newspaper?

Frame the page unfolded. A fold line flattens a little under the glazing but won't disappear completely.

Will the newspaper fade?

Newsprint is acidic and yellows in light over time. Keep it out of direct sunlight.
