About this frame

A slightly deeper 21mm profile with a 17mm rebate, in oak with a smooth, open grain finish. The extra depth leaves room for thicker pieces - comics, magazines, diamond paintings, artwork on card or board - behind the glazing and mount. Each frame is cut, mitred and assembled to fit, handmade in the UK and shipped ready to hang.

Made to your size. Every frame is cut, joined and glazed to order, which is why we can't accept returns on made-to-measure frames. Please check your size before ordering.

Arrives perfect, or we remake it. Every frame travels in specialised picture frame packaging. If anything reaches you less than perfect, send us a photo within 48 hours of delivery and we'll remake it free.

Caring for it. Peel any protective film from the glazing, then clean with a soft, dry cloth. Don't use glass cleaner.

Frame a comic

A comic is thinner than a print but thicker than it looks once it is bagged and boarded, so these frames use our deeper 21mm moulding. The mount opening holds the comic by its edges: the Modern comic opening for issues from the 1980s on, the Vintage comic opening for Silver and Golden Age comics.

Add printed text to the mount - the title, issue number and year - or upload your own artwork for it, and see it on the preview before you order.

What size frame do I need for a comic book?

Choose the opening for your comic, then the frame size you like:

  • Modern comic - about 16.8×26cm (6⅝×10¼"), most comics from the 1980s on.
  • Vintage comic - Silver Age (about 18×26.7cm, 7⅛×10½") and Golden Age (about 19.7×26.7cm, 7¾×10½").
  • 11×14" frame - a neat border; 12×16" frame - a wider border.

A larger comic or a spread? Custom framing cuts the mount to fit.

Can I leave the comic in its bag and board?

Yes. The 21mm moulding has a deeper rebate than our slim frames, so a bagged and boarded comic fits behind the mount and glazing.

Can you print the title on the mount?

Yes. Add printed text to the mount - the title, issue number, year or anything else - or upload an image to print on it. Printing upgrades the mount to our Premium mount.

Do I need to send you the comic?

No. We make the frame and mount and post them to you, and you put the comic in at home.
