A slim, square 17mm profile — understated and endlessly versatile, in a deep, confident black in a smooth, closed-grain finish. It suits monochrome photography, bold typographic prints and anything you want to feel grounded and gallery-sharp. Each frame is cut, mitered and assembled to fit your print — handmade in the UK and shipped ready to hang.

Made to your size. Every frame is cut, joined and glazed to order, which is why we can't accept returns on made-to-measure frames. Please check your size before ordering.

Arrives perfect, or we remake it. Every frame travels in specialised picture frame packaging. If anything reaches you less than perfect, send us a photo within 48 hours of delivery and we'll remake it free.

Caring for it. Peel any protective film from the glazing, then clean with a soft, dry cloth. Don't use glass cleaner.

Framing an etching or lithograph

Original prints are usually signed and numbered in pencil below the image, and an etching has a plate mark pressed into the paper around it. A mount is cut so the window shows all of that, keeps the paper off the glazing, and hides any uneven edges of the sheet.

Choose a frame below with the opening that suits your print, and leave Add my photo unticked: we post the frame and mount, and you fit the print at home. Nothing original goes in the post.

Most original prints are not a standard size. Custom framing cuts the frame and the mount window to your measurements, so the window can include the plate mark and pencil signature exactly.

How big should the mount window be?

For a signed print, make the window big enough to show the image, the signature and the edition number, usually 1-2cm (½") beyond the image on three sides and a little more at the bottom. For an etching, many people show the plate mark too. Custom framing cuts the window to your exact measurements.

Should I float mount an etching?

Floating shows the whole sheet including the deckled edges, but the print has to be hinged to a raised board, which is fiddly to do at home. A window mount gives a clean, classic finish and you can fit it yourself.

How do I fix the print in place?

Hinge it to the back board at the top edge only with acid-free tape, so the paper can move with humidity, then lay the mount over it. Never tape all four sides or use ordinary sticky tape.

What glazing do you use?

Clear, shatter-resistant cast acrylic, lighter than glass and safe to post.

Do I need to send you my print?

No. We make the frame and mount and post them to you; you fit the print at home.
